Brianna Finnegan

Brianna was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in August 2018. She began her career practising criminal law with a boutique firm on the Gold Coast before joining the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions in 2019.

As a Federal Prosecutor, Brianna worked in both the Townsville and Brisbane offices, appearing in courts across Queensland and frequently travelling to regional and remote locations. She prosecuted a wide range of serious matters, including drug importations, fraud, money laundering, fishery offences, and offences involving child abuse material.

Prior to her admission, Brianna worked as a criminal law clerk while completing her law degree, and later as a Litigation Support Officer at Legal Aid Queensland. These roles gave her an early and invaluable insight into the criminal justice system and developed her practical understanding of case preparation and courtroom advocacy.

Brianna has experience in the Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts of Queensland and in the Court of Appeal. Her experience across both prosecution and defence provides her with a balanced and strategic approach to achieving the best possible results for her clients.

Outside of work, Brianna enjoys spending time with her miniature Groodle, Lacey, and taking advantage of Queensland’s beaches and outdoor lifestyle.
